Yellow Garden
Our Central Character, Rhail, is meditating in a yellow garden while his friends vie for his attention.
Violet Vinegar
Violet petals in a cup of vinegar is offered to Rhail as a cure for the common cold. The smell of the concoction makes him feel sick, so he refuses the remedy.
Orange Genie
Rhail tells his friend, Alex, the “truth” about how he found his genie. He explains how he uncorked the bottle, and Jeannie appeared from a swirl of orange smoke.
Blackened Blues
Rhail is seduced by an exotic Cajun, Liz. As she kisses him under a blue moon, Liz convinces Rhail that he’s changing, and she doesn’t like who he’s becoming.
Purple Sash
Rhail wakes in Liz’s voodoo bedroom. He tells Liz about his poor upbringing, and how he had to survive by selling sticks and fish to rich men, in purple sashes.
White Light
Liz and Cat, go to Rhail’s house. They ring the doorbell and knock on the front door, but Rhail does not answer. Cat explains how friends hide behind drawn blinds when they can’t confront their problems.
INTERMISSION
Rainbow Trout
In his bedroom, Rhail dreams about swimming with fish, under the water. In this quiet respite, he doesn’t have to hear the downward spiral of the world’s destruction.
Blood Red
Rhail sings about how he plans to pretend to kill his genie, so he can get her “Back in the Bottle.” In a mirror, he rehearses the fake murder.
Green with Envy
Trapped back inside her bottle again, Jeannie sings a song of repentance. She blames herself, and vows that if she’s released, she’ll never live in envy again.
Brown Bulldozer
Detective Brown, a local police investigator, sings about how a bulldozer at a construction site behind Rhail’s house dug up evidence of murder. The police bring in dogs, and they find a woman’s body.
Silver Soul
Rhail is arrested and placed in jail. He tells the prison psychiatrist about how he and his genie used astral travel to fly to the past, present, and future, only attached to reality by a silver cord.
Spectral –
Can you Believe It : Back at the Arboretum Alex and the rest of his friends are worried about Rhail. Alex is confused, and he isn’t sure what to believe.
Prismatic –
For Life : In the end, Rhail is released. He shows up at the Arboretum and joins in with his friends as they sing a song celebrating the importance of enjoying each and every minute of life.
